As any organization, at the beginning AIESEC in Mexico had some challenges with involvement of the students and companies to the AIESEC activities that implies new challenges and most of all make these two sectors realize about the impact of AIESEC’s philosophy, values and the most important tool that is the Exchange. Anyways they didn’t give up and the effort of those young leaders gave results as 5 traineeships with companies in Mexico as BANAMEX, FORD and SEARS.
With these results and in their second year of activities Mexico becomes a full member in the International Congress in Helsinki with Edmundo Girault as MCP. At this time the founders took a traineeship through AIESEC: Edmundo Girault and Jorge Estua in Italy and Juan López Silanes in France.
Finishing their traineeship, they came back to Mexico to continue with the work of expansion of AIESEC activities and another Institution joined the AIESEC network, ITAM with Francisco Gil Diaz, Jorge Orvañanos and Javier Beristain as founders.
In 1965, AIESEC in Mexico was integrated by five Local Committees, three in Mexico City, one in Monterrey and one in Guadalajara. This meant more opportunities for Mexican students to share and take advantage of the benefits AIESEC brings.
In 1967, STRESS the first program to manage the exchanges was developed by USA and at the same time founders of AIESEC Mexico said goodbye to the organization, after four years they left the Local Committees with strong basis, good number of realized exchanges and a big challenge of organizing the first International Meeting in Latin America, the IPM 1968.
1968 was a very important year AIESEC Mexico, it was a year of successes achieving 110 exchanges and add one more local Committee to the network: Universidad Iberoamericana in León, which in 1969 was awarded as the Best Local Committee of the Region, thanks to their performance.
